Ouch - rear ended..!

Well I took a closer look yesterday - the bumper was deformed quite a way in & then obviously popped out again.

The van hit so hard his bumper reached the metal boot skin which is scratched & deformed, so that also needs replacing.

The metal bar behind / underneath the bumper looks intact, if a little scratched from the plastic hitting it. Other panels look ok, and exhaust unaffected.

It is however going in for a full inspection next week through the insurance co, but expect them to say its cosmetic only.

Also, I'm not one to take advantage of these injury claims, and when it was offered by the insurance company I said I was fine, just shaken. However as I'm training for a charity cycle event at the mo, on a 30 mile route yesterday morning my neck & right shoulder were absolutely killing about 5 miles in & had to come back early - my g/f reckons it is something related to the crash so might see the doc..

Ouch... Sorry to hear this.

Glad you were not hurt.

The bumper doesn't look too bad... Unless its cracked which I can't see?

You could prob swing for and M rear though.

Quick update;

Good news the damage is just the rear bumper & boot. Going in for 7 days from Tuesday.

Whilst it's frustrating, the last job on my list was to get the rear resprayed. I had the front end done due to stone chips etc at a huge expense & was saving to get the rear done eventually.

Apparently my insurance company are providing me with a prestige hire car at a cost of £360 per day (ouch!) - wonder what it will be...!

Insurance company called & confirmed I'll be in a Boxster S pdk for next 7 days - how nice! Anyone driven one of these?

Glad you're getting it sorted. Although I hate the way car hire companies are profiteering out of insurance claims. Thats nearly 3k going on your claim, paid for by the other insurer. Its practices like this that are causing our premiums to rocket.

Not having a go at you fella, I'd be loving it if it were offered to me :)

Agreed - I believe it's costing £360 a day - crazy.

I pay close to £2k a year for my premium which is no doubt down to extortionate claims. That said, for £2k a year & a non fault claim I don't want to be put through any hassle..
