Not really a great topic for discussion but I thought I would mention how friendly this forum is compared to many others... I thought I would be clever and use an E46 forum for sale section to look for second hand alloys as a lot of them will fit our z4's. Only to find the most miserable bunch of individuals slagging each other off about the prices and how ebay is better. Miserable sods.

This is the first forum that I have properly followed and I find it brilliant. I just wonder have others had similar experiences with other forums good or bad?

Agree totally ....BabyBmw .net is also a great forum if you have one :thumbsup: ( a 1 Series that is )
 
bmwland is quite good, the only other one I look at is PH but there are some annoying characters on there sometimes
 
Im quite regular on a few forums. This one is very grown up, friendly, respectful and mature. This doesnt make it the most lively/interesting forum but its not a bad place in the least :thumbsup:

Italian car forums are the best in my experience, friendly, unpretentious and an interesting read what with all the problems :D .

Of all the forums i visit the S2000 one was pretty unforgiving, some of them think their car is the ultimate car bar a MClaren F1. A bit tiresome :roll:

Pistonheads is almost hardwork as there are so many posts, most of them negative about something or other. All lot of them think they are judging a beauty contest half the time :lol:
 
I used the E46 forum (still do sometimes) when I needed info for my M3, I found them quite helpful. Installed an Aux in the M3 with no issues after following their guidance. It's a very large forum so there are bound to be a few jerks on it. This forum is hilarious some days but it helps if you speak English, American and a bit of Canadian. and I still don't know where the term "chavs" comes from .... :x

CHAV....the word actually comes from newcastle and was 'charver' to start with. also known as a mackem.

Chav can be a noun, verb or an adjective. As in “you shitty scum chav”, or “Hey I like the way you have chavved up ya car/wardrobe/lifestyle/language” etc.

The origins of the word itself are unclear and there are a few theories, perhaps all of them correct. Nonetheless, the current criteria for being a chav applies as laid out in this dictionary and no doubt, as culture dumbs-down even more, the definition will need to be updated. Chavs will no doubt eventually, despite their in-bred lack of intelligence, cotton-on to the fact that burberry and it’s current associations foster great hatred and negativity amongst the majority of the population. This factor however, could backfire, as Chavs could consider the perpetuation of hatred and negativity as a great contribution to humanity, even if it is directed towards themselves from others.

The most recent example of a celebrity Chav is Kenzie in Big Brother. (I can’t remember the name of the boy-band he is in – so uncool – but I know it had the word “Crew” or “Squad” whatever, in the name). In fact, Kenzie actually said “no” initially to being in the BB house, but when he thought long and hard about it, decided to say yes as the word “brother” as in, “bruv-va” or “bruv” for short, sounded cool and he thought it would really do wonders for his street-cred. Kenzie is actually white, but to see his clothes and hear him speak, you would think he is black.

I have been on a few forums the touareg forum is quiet usefull but no sence of humor and ph just go to the south wales regonal and read the new year tunnel run thred there is one guy on there that is on the scoobynet forum causing sh1t all the time he cant help himself this forum is a1 and the banter is great fun to read keep it up :thumbsup:
