Other forums can be a little bit rubbish

Okay so I know I am very spoilt here on Z4-Forum.com. The people are great, the banter is good (and sometimes a little bit heated/wrong/misunderstood*), but last night I joined uk-mkivs.net forum for help and advice on the new Golf. Introduced myself, asked where I could get a new os mirror unit and to date it's had nearly 40 views - but nobody has even said hello. Not a sniff. Whats up with that?! Anybody had experience with this site or recommend a better one? Maybe I'm just too impatient.

I'm hoping it wasnt because I mentioned it was a second car to my Z4MC..... :!:

10 views here and no reply, must be you :P

Did you introduce yourself in the same post as where you asked for the mirror? If that is the case, perhaps have a seperate introduction.

LOL, maybe he introduced himself without posting a picture?

:worthless:

this forum is different to the ones i have visited, the either fall into the catagory of great, ok or rubbish,,,,, but then its the people who post who make it and this one is great...

This is a really active forum some are just..... :tumbleweed:

I found this forum the best , followed by the Alfa forum very active.

An active but very "catty" forum is the Evo one

I've always joined owners clubs when I buy a car (so I've been on a lot!) I would say you are spoilt with this one, it is particularly good. 8)

I have also used/use few other forums, but have to say this one is the most active and well kept that I have been a member of by far

I agree. I'm a member of a Land Rover forum and the majority of people on there are sarcastic and unhelpful. Not much banter and what there is it's not very good natured banter. The Nissan 350 forum is ok tho'.

This forum is by far the best! :ilz4f:

Use both this and the Alpina forum (thealpinaregister) - some repetition of people (Ade, Stuart, Glyn, Andy :)) but despite this ;) both are excellent in different ways

Tried a VW forum for the wife's Passat and eventually found the info I was after, but after trawling through the posts, wasn't tempted to join - maybe wrong of me but their treatment of newbies wasn't the best

I find here really good ... it so active and as there a good deal of runs people actually know each other for me it has the advantages of an owners club without all the disadvantages.

Having said that i posted on the skoda owners forum when my dad was looking at buying an octavia and they were really helpfull

Had the same on a DJ forum. Ignored in the three threads I started.

This forum I great. A credit to the members and the mods/admin dudes

http://www.z4-forum.com is utterly relaxed and cheerful, and reading it seems more positive and addictive than coffee.

I also liked the newtiburon.com forum, as it was one hell of a huge, resourceful and dedicated fan base.

I've already drawn huge value from participating in this forum. Thanks to all involved.

I also spend time on ozAudi (yes, I know...!) Good bunch of people on there too.

I've never found a more friendly and knob-head free forum (a couple of nameless users excepted) than this one in all of my years of car forum surfing. It's close to being the one thing that's stopped me moving on from the Z4 as I'm itching for a change!

Just bought a mirror glass for my Bora on flea bay, £7 but not heated type if that helps your original question :)
