OSR "Clonking"

For 3 weeks on my Z4MR I have had an enormous clonking noise from my OSR suspension at all speeds. Even reversing out of my garage & turning onto the road from my drive causes the "bonk". This morning I took it into my local BMW dealership. After me driving a BMW "Master Technician" for 10 miles (for the second time in 3 weeks) they accepted the problem. It appears to be the OSR (under the drivers seat) mounting bolt for the "angle iron Y shaped" rear chassis brace (secured by only 4 bolts).

Hope this helps others.

way of describing which side of the car in relation to the kerb...

over here left of the car is near side, right of the car is offside.

dont ask me why we dont just use left and right though :?

I assume because it depends which way you look at it.

This is the first time I have heard of an OSR. What is it?

As stated by others, it is the "Off Side Rear" - ie RHD Drivers side. Amazingly, BMW could not fix it by tightening up the bolt. I have to take the car in on 30 April for a completely new "Y" shaped brace & mountings.

Not a complete disaster though as the loan car is a new 330D Convertible to try for 48 hours :D .
