Just reading the article reminded me of my trip there a few years ago http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2270587/Germany-launches-fresh-investigation-Nazi-massacre-saw-642-French-villagers-slaughtered-day.html

A chilling ,emotional place but well worth the visit should anyone get chance

So sad to read.
Its certainly not uplifting to visit but when its described as "left as it was" really is true , the pram in the church is there & genuinely looks like its never been touched , as with the cars & houses ,
If you ever visit the landing beaches & memorials its hard to ignore the tourism but with Oradour it does leave you thinking you are there amongst it :|
as i said , well worth the trouble if you ever get near
