Opinions on this car please

Hi all, after the other half left me with her 3.0si for 4 weeks going on holiday.

I have fallen in love with it and started looking to get one for my self.
Looking around there don't seem to be many 3.0si auto's roadsters about.

Now while loving and really after a roadster I came across this yesterday and wanted you well experienced folks opinion.
It's a coupe and I love the way it looks and spec which could switch me into getting one instead of the roadster.

Spoke to the dealer yesterday who confirmed the full BMW service history but no xenons.
The car is about 60 miles from me and I am considering going to see the car in the flesh and a test drive.

The deal would be doing a px against my 3.2 stronic Audi roadster. (just posted in the for sale section)

Just wanted to know your comments and whether its priced correctly?

Not sure what premium the auto box commands, but it seems a little on the pricey side to me.... not overpriced, just top end.

Given it is described as having CSL style alloys, I would assume replica's.... (not that there is anything wrong with that, just contributes to the value of the car).

Aside from that it seems reasonably well spec'ed and look tidy enough.

That is M money. In my opinion that is overpriced and an auto box generally actually reduces the value - not increases it as the market is much smaller for that.

Hi dan,

Thanks for replying.

The CSL's are reps which were confirmed by the dealer. TBH I felt too that it is a little pricey but then again don't know too much about the coupes.
Also comparing it against a few others at the same mileage this one is dearer.

Could it be cos of the spec, perhaps?

Looks beautiful in the pics! After looking quite a lot recently at values I would say this was worth £13k and not £15k.

It is a nice looker with decent spec & miles but OTT on the price / £13k would be more reasonable dealer price & £11500 private

A beautiful car, as others have said its a tad over-priced, £13-14k, it has great mileage and the sports interior looks mint. It looks like its been lowered slightly so you may find an Eibach Pro Kit under those arches.

My pet hate is people always saying cars are overpriced, but in this instance I think it is. I just part exchanged my 07 3.0 coupe sport for £9,500k, it may have had an additional 12k on the clock, but even so. If I'd had waited a few weeks you could've have it off me!

Okay I think I am going to try and negotiate on the price and see what happens.

Will keep you guys posted.

Thanks for the tips guys

Spoke to the dealer again and he said the reason the car is priced at what it is due to the paint job and spec.
Apparently Ruby Black was a custom buyer specific colour when ordered.

Ebony Black? Says Ruby Black in the advert? The guy can say what he wants, the car isn't worth £15k. If you have £15k get yourself a Z4MC with 55-65k on the clock and enjoy it.

Sorry my fault, it is Ruby Black - fixed it in the post.

If the Z4M coupe or roadster came in auto I would mate. But need a auto due a bad back all had no problems driving the gf manual 3.0si. Heard that the clutch on the //M cars is very heavy so can't chance it.

Don't really have the 5.5k price to change from my Audi to this but it just looked great so thought I'd explore it.

The sage advice is to go and see as many of the Z4s that you think meet your requirements before choosing then you can make your own mind up

Advice that I have yet to manage and follow myself as I have a history of buying the first one that I see and like doh!

It's an emotional thing common sense doesn't apply lol

Well specified car for sure, but very pricey. Plus the spurious apostrophe in the finance calculator would stop me buying on principal.

I've seen the car on autotrader previously and as above it does look stunning in the pics.

I have to say that this is BMW AUC money for this car. Its a very similar spec and mileage to mine, if mine were for sale I would be looking at £13k realistically.

Again as above its M money but the top end auto's with full spec and low miles should be just breaking into M money now (low end). Which this is.

PX value is around £11k

If you're serious about buying it I can give you a proper valuation like I did here:

If I was looking for a 3.0si the fact that's it's an auto is a definite plus over the manual.

I really don't think that car is overpriced in that condition.
