Opinions on BMW X6

You aren't allow one unless you are Asian. My mate Jay told me that. He's Asian you see and everyone in his family including him have one (funnily enough the turbo blew up on his last month but it was still under warranty). Went to the first day of his 3 day wedding last month and the carpark looked like there might be an X6 forum meet going on so I tend to think he had a point.

Not that there's anything wrong with the above.

I do hate them though (by that i mean X6s  ). Impracticallity of a coupe with the running costs and negative image of a Chelsea tractor wrapped up in a design that looks like it was conceived by a room full of children high on Sunny Delight.

These look like great all rounders. Very substance over style

Evoque (er...just Evoque)

Don't get me started on the bloody Beckham RR association again. The dilution of a once great British brand through association with a matching pair of vacuous clothes horses.

Yes, it is pimp and footballers wives.

Daft looking thing in the extreme.

Sends awful messages.

We'll I got her :)

Kids are 6 and 3 - as such it swallows their kit gracefully and there is ample space to carry the odd big thing (say a bumper or say a household item).

It's big(wide). Driving it is easy. Parking it will be a different story given it's the size of a white box. I will see how I can live with that.

Straight 6 diesel is thirsty but very strong and super smooth.

Cabin is classy but not really OTT, a bit like the z4 with nice touches inside.

Car has everything bar sat nav( which I don't need) and heated leather seats (which would have been nice to have). The on board computer has the normal functions plus BMW telematics( very useless feature IMHO)

The X Drive system is rarely intrusive and braking on this 2.5T car is surprisingly good.

I will have to see what perceptions it brings out of others - it's surprising how certain people's attitude changes when they know what you drive.

As Bing said I have fancied these for ages and although I know they have higher running costs it should not break the bank.

Evoque was on the list as well but an opportunity to own an X6 at a better price than the equivalent Evoque tipped the scales towards it.

Will post pics later :D

I remember a previous owner on pistonheads saying they would probably have attracted less negativity driving any other vehicle with "peado onboard" written on the side.

i personally like the x6, its the only 4x4 i would consider owning as it has style and curves whereas all the others are a bit bland and square
