Opinions on a new 5 series company car

I'm looking at getting a new 5 series as a company car. It would be a 520d m sport - it actually works out cheaper for me than a 3 series. Given the budget that i have to work with i have a choice of black or white paint (as the rest would go on must have options).

I'm leaning towards white with Cinnamon brown leather. what are you thoughts good or bad, if you can be objective all the better!

cant give an opinion on how it drives, but i would have to go with black paint/black leather, looks so hot!
maybe white paint but still black leather!

My dad has an f10 ( admittedly not the 520 ) and it's an awesome bit of kit. For hrs I'd go black and cream leather.

There is a Carbon black 5 in the BMW showroom window I drive past every morning. Turns my head on a regular basis. Not sure on the brown leather. As above, the black leather looks far classier.

How does a 5 work out cheaper than a 3? Sounds like a good deal

 Black looks great, but I'd go white too I think  - you'll not be mistaken for a chauffeur :driving: , and I reckon its a 'cleaner' look. As for the interior I think the alloy dash needs to be wooden to really set the brown leather off proper like, but presume this will cost £££.

I like the brown leather. Lets face it, most people have black and IMO the brown lightens up the cabin.

I didn't like the new 5 when it was first launched, but it has really started growing on me.

I think your colour choices are spot on! Cinnamon leather really does look classy. I think it needs bigger wheels and sat nav pro - the screen on the dash is really small looking!

I am not a great lover of white cars, but I have to say that is quite nice, the cinnamon leather contrasts better than cream. I know that I am in the minority here but I find black leather interiors oppressive and boring, so you are doing the right thing there

Good luck

The stratstones near me has a white 5 series with brownish leather and it looks very nice.... i actually think the lighter leather suits the inteior much better.

I drove a 520d in ireland a few weeks (a Hertz rental) was very basic with no leather or sat nav.. but it was a nice comfy ride.. however i think i still prefer the old 5 series more.

Carbon black or Space Grey with black leather. The new 5 series M Sport looks great. It will be the next car (528i/535i) I will consider if I don't have my E89.

Love the brown leather and goes well with the white exterior.

Not sure that would be the most sensible option for resale time, but as it's a company car and would be their problem, why not :)

Thanks all, the standard black paint is solid not metallic so looks very flat which puts me off it.

CO2 and the fact that you get lots of things as standard that would be chargable on the 3 - strange i know!

I've seen a white one with black leather and as some have said a different colour leather lifts the interior a bit. i can't really look at grey/oyster leather if I go with white as it clashes with the paint. Decisions decisions...

But for company car, excellent choice I would say though.

As said above, I would not get white as the fashion will have worn off by the time it will be sold, but with a company car that does not matter.

Great choice for a company car. And I really like them in white. Brown leather is surprisingly quite nice too

There's a sapphire black 335i with saddle brown leather on a thread over at detailing world which should give you some idea about one of your combinations. You need to scroll a bit...

I think (?) saddle brown and cinnamon are very similar in colour and I have to say I really like it. Think it would look good in white too, there was an ML Merc in the Brooklands showroom in white with brown back in the summer, done as part of their designo range.
