Ooh Nooo... Ouch

Just went out (or was planning on heading out) for lunch a few minutes ago, and noticed that a colleague parked very close to me in work today which made it quite difficult for me to reverse out of my spot... and guess what happened... i caught the front corner lip of the bumper on a curb... (by the way, i'm not blaming my colleague at all... completely my fault :( )

I just done a quick search on the forum and found two perfect images that describe the situation i am in (or the situation that my bumper is in). The following image perfectly shows how my bumper looks now:

I have broken a few of the holes in the guard that holds the bumper in place and i have also lost a few of the pins. I have pointed this out in the next image:

I want to get this fixed ASAP...

Where would be the best place to bring it and what should i ask them to do AND more importantly what should i NOT let them do

I want it fixed 100%... so that probably rules out a DIY job unless any of you experts think otherwise, thanks in advance guys, i would be very grateful if you guys can help me with this situation as i have a long drive ahead of me tomorrow, thanks again

must be the month for doing silly things

new wheel arch liner maybe - Im no expert though...

any paint damage?

the plugs/pins can be bought at halfords for a couple of £...

Thanks for your response, there is absolutely no paint damage (unless there is a scrape under the bumper or on the inside, which wouldn't bother me at all) i barely touched the curb, but then again, the weight of a car VS a few pins = car wins.

New wheel arch liner... sh*t, i didn't think this was going to be expensive to repair... any other suggestions, thanks again "gannet"

I'm guessing on the wheel arch liner.. based on your description of 'ripped'...

least there would be no respraying involved...

I would imagine the heads of the poppers that hold the liner on will fail first, rather than the liner holes get opened up.

I'd just get new poppers to hold the liner against the bumper and go from there!?

Is the liner actually *ripped* apart, or is it just the holes that look a bit worse for wear?

Shame - probably looks worse than it is. Get the pins from BMW for a few pence each. They are the best and have a smooth top to them. They are 2 part and push fit. The bumper can then just be clipped back together. If you actually tore the arch liner as mentioned above then you need a professional to either plastic repair it or fit a new one (unless you're up to try yourself)

If the liner holes did open up a little, couldn't he just use a plastic washer to solve that? Seems like this shouldn't be more than a few dollars to get it back together.

I think as a temporary fix, you can use some epoxy and repair the holes that are ripped. I am sure you can purchase extra rivets and plugs at the dealer as well. The 4 rivets are not really load-bearing, and mainly serve to keep the fender liner attached.
I don't think you will have to worry about the bumper falling off at all. The bumper clips to the side by the fender, and there are retention screws on the underside as well.

By the way, that handsome fellow in the fender reflection looks awfully familiar ;)

If your colleage hadn't parked so close it wouldn't have happened, i blame him/her

Thanks Guys & Girls for all the replies... i have it together with cable ties for the moment as i don't want to just throw it back together. I have someone looking at it tomorrow morning who should be able to get it 100% right. Thanks again for all the replies (and to whoever posted (owns) those photos in the first place  )
