Online stuff after 3 years old.

I just had my car MOT’d and am going to take out the extended warranty as it is 3 years old in about a week. I currently use the Google send to car function a lot from my android phone and pc. I also get the traffic updates on the sat nav.

Will these end all when the car is 3 years old? I had a letter when I first bought the car 2 years ago about connected drive running out, but it has continued to work ever since. If I take out the warranty does this cover it?
 
I think the connected drive is for 3 years from when the car is first registered (or something like that) which explains why its still working for you.

I doubt the warranty includes it, but I don't know.

Also, as its a subscription thing, I assume you could just "wait and see"...and then if it does stop, then subscribe? Perhaps someone who has been through the process can help.
 
Just found the letter (don't know why I keep everything) and it was actually about BMW assist. Is that the breakdown thingy? It mentions Google local search and 24 hour concierge and gives a www link to connecteddrive?

If it did end I guess I didn't even notice.
 
The BMW connected idrive is free for 3 years from date of first subscription. This may or may not coincide with the first registration of the vehicle. Thereafter it is approx £170pa
I got lucky, the first owner never activated it so I got 3 years from querying why it wasn't woking :)
