It's been exactly one year since I've been behind the zed.. it's mostly been smiles and joy, though there have been some headaches sprinkled in there as well. I had to fix the roof motor (free job, though was pain in the butt). Never fixed the secondary air pump issue which causes a CEL, annoys the heck out of me because I would never know if another code came up unless I checked it via OBDII regularly. Honestly though, its been a blast.. it was my first RWD vehicle over 200hp. I'm planning to keep it for another year before selling to get a 2008-2010 335i. Am I making a bad choice here? I know I'm going to miss the zed, but its pretty impractical here in the New York winter.. I recently bought the 2015 Golf R which just came to this side of the pond (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJsD0o2kW9U), but its mainly going to be driven by my fiancee. I just get the occasional joyride
I'm just really beginning to fall in love with turbos and their ease of modification from stock. A tune on the Golf R makes 0-60 in 3.8s which is ridiculous. A tune on the 335i can make it rather insane as well.
For those who have kept their zed for extended periods of time.. I'm not making a ridiculous decision knowing that I'm eventually going to let go of the zed right? It'll never lose its place in my heart, I mean, my entire youtube channel is based off of it. A z4m might be in my future when I graduate from medical school in 2018
Happy driving!
