one touch windows

Hi all, I have a question which I can't seem to find the answer to with the one touch windows when pressing the 'all windows' button. It doesn't appear to work when closing, I have to press and hold to make all the windows go up, however pressing once to lower works fine. Is there something odd going on or some kind of safety feature?

thanks in advance

yes normal, I have one touch up on individual windows ....not sure about the rears however will check tomorrow

i guess its like the roof where you can put it down with the key fob but not up again

This is normal operation, one touch works for down only.
unless you have a SmartTop module...:)
one touch all windows up
can be enabled on it

Along with auto folding mirrors and easier control of the roof. :)

And a freshly brewed coffee waiting for you in the cabin!

If only I had the guts to do it, I'd get a smart top module in a flash.

the e85 has one-touch up and down? serves you right for upgrading LOL

Oh dear.. Someone's not read the thread? :) The e89 has four windows.. The main ones are one touch up and down. However there is a fifth button that does all four windows at once and it's that fifth button that is one touch down only, you have to hold it to put them all up, probably a BMW 'reason' for it..

Meant to post this a few days ago, but with a memory like a seive, that didn't happen!

Just to clarify - after I checked this on mine, and as you already know (but I checked it out, so I'm gonna post!!!).

The all windows button....when pressing the button down to open the windows, it has the "2" stage action, first stage for manual open, and 2nd stage for auto open. you know, you can feel a resistance, then press further.

But when "pulling" the switch up, to close the windows, it doesn't have the 2 stage bit, only 1 for manual operation.

As said, pointless post cos this has been answered, but I wanted to write it down before I forgot!

It's the same with mine. You can feel the difference in action between pressing and pulling the switch. With the smarttop thingy, when you pull it and quickly let go there is a split second delay, then the the module kicks in and closes all the windows.
