Hi all,

I'm afraid I'm not too hot with a camera and these pics were rushed a tad as the roads were quite busy with bikes on the weekend, but here are a few.

Oh, and a well done to anyone who can recognise where they were taken....

I'm still learning how the Z handles as I've come from AWD, but I had a real blast..... :driving:

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone, next time I take some pics, I'll try and do a better job and make sure I clean the car first..lol!!

Looking very nice Voodoo. Your not the Voodoo from Scoobynet are you?

 Yup. So that'll be you from SN too then Paulg...

Yes thats me. :D

I used to have a Scooby too but glad I made the change to BMW. Scooby was fun and manic but theres something about the Z4M that makes me smile every time I drive it. Do you miss yours?

I really don't miss my Impreza at all. I will say though that I was very lucky and happy to have owned them and they were an itch I needed to scratch! I had an '03 WRX which was a great all rounder which I did many miles in without a single fault. I changed that in early '07 for a new spec.D STI. The STI was great at first and was a hugely capable car, but the crashy ride and frantic nature of the car did start to grate on me after a while. I felt like I was constantly up and down the box to keep it in boost as the power band was very narrow and even my GF complained it made her feel sick because of the constant shifting combined with the ride and the road noise.

The Z is very different, most of all it feels SO much more special when I start it, sit in it or just look at it. I much prefer the handling of RWD which feels much purer than the AWD. The RWD seems more adjustable by the drivers inputs. The ride, though firm isn't crashy over bumps and both my GF and I prefer it. Oh, and the boot is far more useable, which is handy as we enjoy nice long road trips. The engine is fantastic in the Z, power delivery is so linear and feels "beefy" all the way up the rev range. I'm starting to really believe I much prefer n/asp engines to forced induction.

Overall, it's several-nil to the Z4M so far....

Totally agree with you. The BMW just feels so much more special and turbo lag used to really annoy me. Used to get caught out a lot. The Z4M seems to have power everywhere in any gear. I had a 02 WRX remapped and a full de cat and it was very quick but the brakes were awful, it did grip well but not in a nice stable manner like the Z. The grip on the Z seems to be never ending. My fiancee hated the Impreza but loves my Z. It does get a lot of attention too :D

It looks like the roads through the Brecon Beacons, but there's a lot of them and I couldn't tell you where exactly.

pvr was close, but not quite specific enough..!! However, mmm-five takes the win..!!! Photos taken at a lay by break on a spirited drive through the Brecon Beacons..!! :driving:

Everything was perfect, the weather, the roads and the car. Don't you all just love it when that happens..?!

Now I just need to find some good roads here in Kent....
