Very - I'm sure Stu will confirm that it's one of, if not the best Roadster that's around

It's a cracking buy at a very reasonable price, as long as someone can move quickly

Never understood the appeal of the alpina Z when you can buy an M for a couple grand more - Just looks somewhat dated to me

Ranksi, it's an enthusiast thing. They have their following just like the M. It's too early for me to give a balanced view. One long drive in crap weather and a test drive does not make a valid and balanced viewpoint.

I do understand the dated comment, but don't necessarily agree. The front spoiler is properly aerodynamic and not just a piece of eye candy, but its not to everyone's taste. The rear spoiler is a thing of beauty to my mind. The rest of the car is well sorted and its very nice to drive hard. As per my comments after the test drive, the M and Alpina are different animals, different tools for different jobs

Rich, I've driven an Alpina (I nearly bought one 4 years ago) and they are lovely, lovely cars. Very quick, nice sound, probably easier to use than an M but not quite as exciting or alive when you're on it. I also think they are better screwed together than the original E85's as well because they were hand assembled at the Alpina factory.

I see what your saying guys, but for £14k it's not something I would consider buying

Probably because I still have the taste for getting a Z4M

In truth, all E85/86 cars started to look a bit 'dated' as soon as the E89 came out, that's the way of the world. As far as the Alpina goes, some people have de-gingered the headlights & sidelights and added the facelift rear bumper & rear lights and they look just as 'up to date' as an M. I wouldn't bother because I like the original look and the ginger bits work with a red car.

Not everyone gets the appeal of the Alpina and, in truth, that's also part of the appeal.

Thanks for linking Perry :D

She is in stunning condition (no bias - seriously) and deserves to find an enthusiastic owner. At £14k without the extras, she's fantastic value against the 2 Sytner cars and absolutely faultless.

Anyone interested has got to be quick, though, as plans are afoot to trade very, very soon as a great deal appears to have fallen in our lap.

If any interest, please pm me in the 1st instance. thanks

I will look forward to Stuarts conclusion once he has had the M a while, I can really understand the appeal of both cars & I am fond of the individuality of the alpina, the one that is for sale looks very special :) Stuart's car included :)

If you are after a alpina roadster at the moment you are in for a treat both cars look like winners to me :D

Put simply if this had been on the market when I was looking I would have pulled the trigger the photos of this at the sytner alpina meet are stunning .

Ade was incredibly helpful when I was looking at Alpinas and Ms back in October- best of luck with the sale.

With an M front bumper and de gingered I think they would appeal more! But I do really like the alpinas was wowed by the 2 that turned up to the national meet

Thanks: appreciated and glad to help at the time. Back then, we weren't considering parting with her, but situations and needs change, sadly, and both of my current ALPINA's will be gone very soon as an auto is required for me.

Ade best of luck with the new motor when it comes- understand totally that situations change - someone will get a cracker I'm sure

Ade's just announced that the deal is done on his new car so anyone who may be interested needs to make their move before next weekend

No rush on this now, chaps as we've decided not to chop her in for the new car. So, she is still for sale, and will remain so until someone wants to take her away. Just couldn't bear to think of her going through an auction and some scrotty dealer profitting on her! So, as per original link from Perry, here she is. I need to tidy-up the info which I will get round to once the new toy has arrived at the weekend.

This is not your everyday used car! She deserves the best of new homes

Had the pleasure of meeting Ade and Liz & looking over their Alpina RS at the BMW event at Gaydon last summer. Original, fastidiously looked after and mint, someone is going to get a great deal of car for very little money!
