.... installing a new Bottom Bracket!

Noticed mine starting to grind about 500km back and knew the BB had gone into meltdown. Drat.

Couldn't be arised faffing about swapping a new one in until I found some time today. Have had a nice Ultegra upgrade sitting in the drawer so decided to deploy it and blardy hell, what a revelation!
Not only has the 'grind' disappeared but it's a definite upgrade from the basic Shimano BB I had. It's smooth as silk!
Time to get back on the racing bike now... yeahhh

Take your torque wrench with you on your first ride and check the pinch bolts on the left crank when you get to the cafe. If they work loose you could strip the crank arm splines.

Nice, used to be a 6m maintenance routine for me, to re grease the BB on my bikes. Been a few years now though. Enjoy the silken smooth ride of a well greased BB.

Aye. But it's on the kickr so no need to worry about tools being to hand :D

I'm a bit fastidious with cleaning Buzylar, that's where most of the time went. lol
I managed to knock my front derailleur out of position too which is a blinkin nuisance to put reet again. drr

Not bad Paul. Not bad at all!
Which SRM power meter do you have?
I've been eyeing up the 4iii Podiiium retrofit option for my non driveside 105 crank. About 300 Euros or thereabouts from the dude I bought the Kickr from.
Was considering going for an Ultegra crankset but I'm not racing and it would be a marginal gain I think.

I have a Dura Ace SRM road power meter and a SRM track power meter

I have a spare road Dura Ace SRM if you want to make me an offer

That’s a great offer but it would mean me also investing in a dura ace driveside crank/cog I think?
What crank length is your srm? I currently run 175mm crank length with 50/34 cog up front.
I’m currently looking at €329 inc postage for a 4iiii Podium Shimano 105 5800 meter.
Seems good value and does just as good a job as other more expensive left-side-only meters.

From memory it is 172 crank length it has 8 strain gauges in the spider the SRM is the gold standard for power meters
You can run the Dura Ace with any
Other Shimano drive train and would probably work with other makes of drive trains the chain rings have done around 100 miles if that let me know if you are interested

Thanks mate, but I’ll pass. I think besides the fact it wouldnt really fit into my current drivetrain you’d be looking for more than I’m looking at spending on the 4iiii currently.
I’m also only looking to get a decent indication of power output rather than mega accuracy which the SRM gives. I’m not racing, only biking for fitness/enjoyment so it would be an expensive marginal gain too in that respect.

Stick it on marktplaats.nl and indicate youre in the UK. It will fly out the door probably at your asking price too!
