On wing indicator replacement

You need to :
1. Get the indicator off - grasp, twist firmly anti-clockwise, it will unclip and then pull out. Needs efforts - won't break.
2. Undo the bulb holder by twisting and pulling
3. Take a sharp craft knife (Stanley blade is a bit thick) and carefully insert between the clear plastic and the back of the badge, cut gently round to slice through the adhesive. It is just double-sided sticky tape. Pull off and clean the tape off both bits.
4. Search for 'carbon badges' on here and find an email address in one of the many threads for Ian Clifton - send him a mail asking for his PDFs, he does loads of different things, including OEM badges. He can give you two types - one that is OEM and has locating holes for the wee pins on the indicator itself, and one that is effectively a boot badge that you simply cut/snap the lugs off. The first are more expensive.
5. Use no more nails tape pads - I used the yellow coloured non-permanent ones cut to shape, and a gob of silicone sealant in the middle. Make sure you get the left and right correct and don't accidentally put one of the badges on the wrong way up.
You can of course just buy replacements from BMW - they will be OEM and come with the adhesive tape attached ready to fit. No idea how much they are though. From memory Ian's are about £18-20 each for the OEM ones ? You really should get his catalogues anyway :wink:
