On the lookout for a bargain, wheel-wise

I'm sure everyone would like the same, so this might might be an ultimately futile post, but I'll carry on all the same.

I would love to replace my tatty, kerbed, paint-bubbled MV2's with something that's just nice to look at. I'm not loaded with cash right now and a lot of what I do have is parked for a set of side skirt extensions if this Group Buy thing takes off, so really I'm just bargain shopping for what I can get.

I've been looking at size 19's but I know that's unlikely. There's always getting mine refurbished, but that's not very exciting. Ebay isn't turning up very much and anything on here is always gone before I get there. Most of the car is done, bodywork, styling, mods... There's just that one piece of the jigsaw missing, just a set of wheels to be proud of. Something that makes the rest of the work done worthwhile.

So if you spot a bargain somewhere and you're not in it to win it, if you have something you're looking to offload and it sounds like it fits the bill, maybe just send a wink and a nudge my way

I'm not saying I'll be able to bite at the first thing I see or say 'Hell yeah!' to everything and anything. Just keep in the back of your mind that nice polite young man looking for his jigsaw piece.

Thanks guys, peace out

Have you considered MV1's?
They don't seem to be highly appreciated wheels but I like them. In a strange way they feel to me like a modern version of wire wheels.
Most of all they usually very keenly priced.

Also I've got a set that could fit the bill!
Let me know what you think.

Many options available buddy, but not usually cheap.

Maybe get yours refurbished and look out for a swap?

108's are pretty cheap when in a poor state but refurbishments aren't that cheap!

Yeah I wasn't really expecting a lot but it's always worth asking.

I'm not very keen on MV1's.

I have noticed 108's going really cheap in some quarters, they may be the way to go if I do change. I think you're right that should get mine done for now. If I'm being honest I do actually like MV2's and without the scrapes and paint chip's I would probably be happy, they're just not very exotic but 'beggars can't be choosers' as the saying goes.

I'm in the same position at the moment. Want a change and something new. My MV2s are also in need of a refresh. I'd love a set of 224s but I just don't have £500+ spare at the moment (damn nursery fees!). Good luck with the search 8)

Maybe change the colour OP it may help you fall in love with them a bit more.

Anthracite would look good IMO or a Nice High power silver.

I think that's the winner right there, I am a fan of anthracite. I'm going to shop around for a good refurbisher in the North West and aim for some size 19's at a later date.

I have a set in my garage that I use for winters. You won't go wrong with dark MV2s. Here's what they look like on the car...
