Olympic Flame

Just been sat in floods of tears listening on the local radio to my sons mate walk with the Olympic Flame. He lost both legs and an eye in Afghanistan. (He got awarded the Military Cross as he went in four times to help his injured mates) Such a proud moment for him and his family.

That's exactly the kind of person we should be having carrying the Olympic Torch!

Much better than 'celebrities' like Will.i.am and the rest of them....

x 2 Absolutely

Just seen the storey on the 10 o clock news.

The word Hero is bandied around far to much these days, especially around slack-arsed footballers but THAT man there is a true hero in the true sense of the word and an inspiration for all.

I cannot believe that a bunch a Russian "business men" carried the torch as part of a corporate sponsorship. Wrong, just wrong.

Well said.
He used to pick my lad up while they were training and I would read him the riot act about driving carefully etc.
He used to promise me faithfully he would but I never believed the little bugger. Such a nice lad. :(

Theyre not E89's. Aren't they E90's?

Correct Carol, my mistake just looked on beeb website where there was a better view - just saw a quick shot of a yellow BMW grille and put 2 and 2 together and got 5 ! Wishful thinking perhaps on my behalf!

Saw two of the support cars today. They've done a good paint job on them.
