CSL's look 10x better than OEM's.

Finally someone agrees haha!

There's more than Ali agrees, looks wise the CSL's transform the car for the better and give it much more presence as well as setting the M apart from non M's. I couldn't contemplate going back to the originals which is just as well as they're long since sold on. The 18's do look far better in a darker shade though.

True, im going to keep mine so I can use them for track days and then hopefully sell them with the car as you wont get any more money for the car with CSLs but they will be worth £1000 when I come to sell them.

You probably won't see any premium for a car with CSLs, or a small amount if it's a private sale, but it's goIng to make the car much more desirable to potential purchasers. When you see the stupid prices people on here have had to sell their cars for, that's important. I sold my original wheels and bought a second hand set of CSLs which I powder coated for a total of £400 more than I got for my wheels. I use them for my winter and cup tyres alternately and have got a second set of CSL's which I bought new. One of the sets will go with the car if I ever sell it and it will have cost me only £400. As I've already had it well over 4 years that makes sound financial sense to me.

See, you can justify any expense for your car if you try hard enough.

Very true, well with a set of OEM Z4M wheels only being worth £500 with tyres (and a good set of Michelins are £1000 which is what are on them atm) I dont see any reason to sell them (plus like you said could use them for winters too) when I can just put them back on the car at the end of my ownership and sell my CSLs for probably more than I paid for them caus I got mine for a steal. It might make it more desirable to buyers, but wont add any premium. There are always people after CSLs be it in the Zd comunity or on the M3 scene so its a good investment if you ask me

Plus my OEM wheels do set the car off well and it does look different. So I suppose its not bad either way.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to go for a set of CSLs, and like you in Shadow Chrome.

Is there a sure fire way of ensuring genuine CSls are in fact genuine?

BLOODY HELL how much??!?!? Not much change from £90 delivered  For a couple of metal plates!!!

I've got a good friend whose fmaily business is a multi-million pound CNC metal blah blah blah. I've had a chat with him and he said he'll have a look at my car when I get it, he's pretty sure he'll be able to do these for a hell of a lot cheaper. He said he'll happily make a load if there is enough interest on here?

A good set of CSLs will cost you £1600 new £900-1k for a perfect second hand set or a poor set £700 then replayed in shadow chrome is about £85-90 a wheel then £700-1500 for a set of boots. This mod din is not cheap 8)

RPI skid plates from america $60 plus the postage so a fair bit cheaper

Let me know if you see some, particularly ones in need of refurb

Took me 4 months to find mine. But I was really picky didn't want any to refurb.

But pistonheads/ebay is your best bet or maybe some of the M3 forums.

Youl find everything you need here, including all the induction options, maps, suspension and brake upgrades styling etc

How do Mstyle justify charging nearly twice as much for the AFE intake as CA Automotive?! £600 vs £340

With your remus back boxes BMWZ4MC are you seeing a fair drop in MPG too? I know yours is just a fun/weekend/track car so you dont use it as a daily, just so the OP knows

That my MPG has dropped since I fitted the Remus back boxes is entirely due to my right foot and the wonderful sound it creates when I bury it in the carpet

I fitted them when I replaced the front bumper, and it's remained immaculate - worth every penny as far I'm comncerned. Of course, if you'd been here six months ago, I would have taken you up on your offer... :P

As for the CSL vs OEM wheel debate above, CSLs every time. I use my OEMs mainly for the track, and last time I put them on the car they ended up staying on for a few weeks. I'd forgotten how uninspiring they look :? That said, TomScott, the colour of your OEMs suits your car better than the CSLs, but I guess you've realised that hence the planned change...

M Style do have a price match guarantee so if the AFE Induction is that much cheaper...... ? It is slightly annoying that they are trying it on to being with though

I've been looking everywhere for this cheaper than CA Automotive because I'm struggling to justify spending so much for a bit more induction noise... £340 seems the best price so far

Group Buy?? :) I'd have one if the price come down

I wouldn't think it would add much, none of my mods have cost much more than a few tens of pounds at most...
If you chaps are thinking a group buy might save us some cash, I'd definitely be up for it.
M@r]{, I hope you realise it's just an expensive cone filter wrapped in a couple of metal plates :poke: :P
