Oil

Anybody know what oil the 3.0litre version uses? Plus can this be used for the Alpina version or would it be better getting something else?

I use 10w60 in the Alpina and 10w40 in my 330 which has the same engine as Z4 3.0. Both fully synthetic, and usually Castrol, Millers or Elf.

Why the change from original spec oil?? I think I use 0w30 or something.

No joy, will have to use my dad's 2000 Fiesta

10w60 is for very highly stressed performance engines and is the standard oil grade for M models. I use Castrol Edge Sport whenever possible but I think BMW use TWS as standard. 0w30 is a premium winter grade oil.
