Oil sump gasket replacement and P0171 and P0174 fault codes

Gents,

Had my 2.5 E85 in for it's MOT last week, the oil sump gasket was leaking so had that replaced. After doing around 160 miles afterwards my check engine light came on, I read the codes and the errors were "P0171 system too lean bank '#1" and "P0174 system too lean bank #2".

Having both of these errors seems to suggest a MAF sensor fail (I recorded my manifold air flow rate and it peaks at around 150 g/s, does this seem to suggest it's reading fine?), a leak between MAF and manifold on the rubber boots/ducting (can't seem to see any obvious ones) or a vacuum leak somewhere.

When doing the sump gasket replacement, is there the possibility the during removal of the sump there would be the need to disconnect vacuum hoses (such as the crank case ventilation vacuum/oil dip stick hoses), therefore causing these errors if they were not seated correctly?

I'm taking the car back in today for investigation of another small oil leak found, and to have a look at these codes.

The second oil leak apparently looks like oil is seeping out of the engine block in pin-head sized drops, in the region below the air intake manifold. The technician says he's never seen anything like this before, so wants to take off the intake manifold etc to have a better look. Anyone heard of this type of leak before? Is there anything else in this area likely to leak oil?

Cheers!
