Oil service?

Guys,

any ideas how much an oil service for a 2004 2.5 Z4 should be? I've just been told £231, does that sound right?

I paid £199 for inspec1 from main dealer end of dec so your price seems high.

Shop around, price match and if going to main dealer remind them car is over 4 years old

did call round, interestingly enough that's the cheapest round here :headbang:

the service guy said about a bit of discount as the car is over 4 years old, seems I have no other option :x

£216 was the lowest i could find from a stealer, or 150 from a indi.

So I did it myself, took 20 mins. cost £65

understand fully but now you don't have full service history! it doesn't matter to some people

Navid, I had mine done at a main dealer (Broad Oak, Ashford) for £180, I also have a full service history that I wanted to maintain. That was with me providing my own oil (bought 2x 4l 5w30 Castrol Edge at Asda for £30 a pop, rather than £100 for 6.5l of the same from the main dealer - still have 1.5l for top ups later on) and a brake fluid change, as well as a new (cabin?) filter.

Ask them if they'd price match, I remember someone getting a dealer to match against local independents apparently. Worst they can do is say no...

Hope this helps

Dev,

thanks for the useful info  unfortunately, there isn't an indy as far as I know or see round here :headbang:

is that £180 for oil service and brake fluid change and filter?

I've been calling a few dealers today also, as my car is also due an oil service... the cheapest i have been quoted from BMW is €340, which is £298... and on top of that, i am just about to pay €1100 annual road tax... oh and did i mention how bad our weather is...

Yup - Oil Service with cabin microfilter, and brake fluid change for £180. I supplied my own oil, which cost me a further £60.

TBH I still think it's a bit steep, but these are main dealer prices so it's just a case of taking the hit. At least it was while-you-wait and I had free biscuits and wifi! (and the staff were very nice, couldn't fault them at all)

a bit further to travel but got £198! will have to call the local dealer to see if they price match! hate calling round

Just had an oil service and brake fluid change done on a 2004 2.5 and it cost me £124 all in at my local Indy. (ETA Motorsport).

Couldn't complain at that!!!!

you lucky people with your indy garages :headbang:

does anybody have any feedback about this indy? http://warnemotorsbury.co.uk/

they are an hour and half away from me but quoted me £145 for the same job.

how does this affect the service history? thoughts appreciated.

On a 2004, I don't think (m)any will be put off by a specialist service stamp, I certainly wouldn't. I would definitely walk away from a Z4 that had been self serviced or taken to Motosave type places though!

so nobody has ever used this garage in question? why nobody who has a Z4 and lives in this area, join the forum

no price match from the local dealer and didn't really like the idea that other dealer is charging less :x

I might just take it to a local garage, as mentioned before it is 7 years old car, the main point is it being serviced, by whom seems to be irrelevant.
