Oil service - just a quick price check...

I'm told its usually about £270 total inc VAT, main dealer with the correct "Motorsport oil".

I might be able to get a reduction, does anyone else have an idea of what would be considered well priced for the whole thing?

Hi Juniorjet,
have a look here, http://www.walkersautotech.co.uk/bmw-specialist-servicing-in-west-sussex.html
this is where I bought my Z4 and this is their servicing costs, Z4 is priced the same as an E46. very helpful indy. they are all master BMW techs with years of experience and are very honest. they are based in billingshurst so should be close to you I think.

But your own oil from Opie, purchase a new filter and drive over to BMAutosport in West Kingsdown. £40 incl vat if you supply the goods IIRC.

I've just had my oil, proper Motorsport ///M3, brake fluid and MOT done from an Indy for under £200, the owner is a friend and has bought the oil in bulk, he has an E46 ///M3, and the MOT was a bit cheaper, so the BMW price seems steep to me.

Mine was £300 including a £35 MOT, so about right.

If you have the extended warranty through Mondial you *have* to have the servicing done at the dealer.

I've not got extended warranty however I thought as long as the garage was VAT registered and used OEM parts your warranty would be valid, I had my Alpina D3BT serviced independently from new, maybe Mondial have different requirements with their warranty.

That's true for the EU-mandated manufacturer's warranty. Once you go extended, the warranty company can insist on whatever they like.

I paid just under £170 in March from my local main stealer for oil, micro filter and brake fluid.

I supplied my own oil as dealer wanted £120 for it. Cost me £45 from ECP with discount there were running.
