oil light

Just had the oil light come on amber after turning the ignition off. Does this mean anything serious? Or just that I need a top up? What's the best oil to use? Cheers
 
It means you need to top it up

Only a liter I think

To tell you what best we would need to know what engine

The castrol is ok to use, and as said just needs a top up, mine goes off once the oil level is roughly midway between hi and lo on the dipstick, a half litre or so is normally suffice :thumbsup:
 
Yeah the M54 is known to need a top up now and again. Mine does after hard driving, particularly when using overrun :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
