Oil leak

Hi,

I have a small oil leak on the right side of the motor 3/4 of the way from the front. It appears to be dripping from the top of the cam cover and burning off on the rear exhaust manifold.

Is there a part under the plastic cover that could leak oil?

Yes..it's called gasket or seal !

The leak appears to be coming from higher up on the cam cover, so I would guess that it is not the gasket for the cam cover.

The garage looked at the car today and it appears that the gasket for the vavetronic motor had a problem and was allowing oil to leak out onto the cam cover. The oil would eventually flow down the side of the cover and burn off on the headers. We had pre-ordered the cam cover gaskets and spark plugs, but now we have to wait for the valvetronic gasket.

It looks like the rubber has a gash in it and it is allowing oil out.
