Oil leak with picture.

 Gloucestershire/Lincolnshire.
Hey guys,

I have oil building up where the red circle is and running down to where the red arrows are causing little puddles of oil.

The yellow circle indicates a blue adhesive of some sort which makes me think this area has been worked on before I bought the car.

Has anybody come across this before and knows what the problem is?

Leaking gasket that someone has tried to bodge with silicone or similar on the outside. Needs a new gasket fitting

Not done the job before but will be a simple removal, clean the faces and fit new one.

Did a cam cover gasket replacement on mine a while back:

Bit of a long-winded thread but maybe a few pointers in there to help you out.
Relativelt straight-forward job. Make sure you check the cover for hairline cracks.
If the gasket is hardened in places then its most likely the gasket but i understand they leak mostly from the bottom at the back wheras urs is at the top at the front!

Remember to make sure the gasket is sealed well, use RTV at the edges.. it's what caused my latest video
