Oil filter housing gasket conundrum

Hi guys
I just bought a 2007 3.0si. Of course I need to fix a few leaks on that, among them the OFHG. I was just about to order a set, probably from Elring as I had a good experience with them on previous bimmers, but I see two part numbers listed for N52: 504.530 and 632.090. They both come up on Autodoc when searching by OEM P/N: 11428637821, and on the photo they look identical, but apparently are made from different material: one is HNBR, the other FPM. Any idea which should I buy? The FPM one has a higher number, could it be that it's an updated version of the gasket using a better material?

Ive been pondering this exact same choice recently too. Its my understanding that both materials are excellent choices for oil seals, and in reality for this application it doesn't really matter, fpm probably will last longer. I was leaning towards fpm.

Don't forget the oi cooer gasket too whist your there.

I can't comment on the difference between them, but having done an alternator change on my E85 3.0si (I was going to do the OFHG along with the oil cooler gasket but opted not to in the end because there isn't really a leak) I would highly recommend taking out the fan before removing the drive belt. I took the belt off with everything in place, and put the new belt back on with the fan removed, for the sake of the 5mins it takes to take the fan out I know what I would do next time.
