oil filter for intermediate oil change

I am getting the oil changed mid point between Insp 1 and the next oil service and have bought the oil service pack from Opie which was good value with club discount and free shipping. It has a filter in it but not BMW. I can buy a filter tomorrow from Sytners for £13 or use the non BMW one supplied. I would welcome suggestions on the difference. It will be in for around 8000 miles.

If I used the Opie supplied can BMW tell its not one of theirs when they change it next or will it be covered in oil and look the same or is it worth the £13 to stay with the manufacturers part?

It'll be easy to tell an aftermarket from oem dirty oil or not, due to the markings on the end rubber seals, number of fins, density of mesh, etc. etc.

If you're under warranty and worried spend the £13, but if not and it's an interim change I'd use it.

It is under warranty so for £13 I think I will go for peace of mind and keep the filter for a post warranty change in the future. Thanks for the advice.
