Oh no! Over eager machine polishing

I agree with cj10jeeper, don't f..k around touching in waiting to dry, flatten and polish because it will look crap. Get it painted by a decent smart repairer or put it into body shop .
 
Going to try and smart repair it myself as per Mike's method. It is not in a mega noticeable part of the bumper.

Alternatively I wonder if "chips away" or anyone like them could have a stab at it?

East of Nottingham mate.
A lot of folks have commented and admired the car since it has been polished, sealed and waxed. It has made an amazing difference to the car and well worth doing. I have learned the lesson about the plastic bumper and to be careful with the polisher.
Yeah, if someone can do it for not too much outlay then I'm up for that. Otherwise I will have a crack at it myself.

Wheel refurbishment is next.

I don't blame you, a good stab at the touch up method could save you quite a bit in comparison to a respray...

Also I wouldn't beat yourself up about it... Like many have said it's probably peel, which you've 'ripped off' when you've been polishing.

Keep us posted with what you do / how you do it and pics of the finished article!
