Just caught my rear wheel on those crappy pop up things you get in car parks to stop you going the wrong way. It looks as though it's gone cleanly over one but not enough to push the one next to it down.

Cock, that's another £120 I could do without spending; they've only been done a few weeks too. Booked in for repair on Tuesday.

I'm sure it'll be fine [hopes], I just hate it as, while it's only small, I can't help looking at it.

The good lady wife can't see what all the fuss is about "it's not as bad as mine", well that's OK then, She just doesn't understand the pain!! Lol.

Balls - feel your pain. At Lakeside there is one car park with these, but they are only about 3" wide and there's loads of them. No way to line the car up to avoid them, traffic behind, went over and not only did they scrape off parts of the underside of my (lowered) car, one caught the outside of my side skirt from about halfway down the length of it right on the outside bottom edge :(

They are the 19" M3's with the diamond cut face so they can't just patch the 2" of damage it's a complete refurb.

Yes, this is the wheel in question pre damage

I see why DD,you can do a small repair in that area,it's not perfect but it certainly takes the eye off.I done one on Monday on an Audi and once I'd finished you couldn't tell.

My better half would say the same!

My missus would have called me a clumsy idiot, ranted at me for half an hour (I can cope with this) then given me the silent treatment for a couple of hours (this is the bit I hate) then asked me how I was going to sort it out......

I'd never given those parking directional aids any thought previously.

I will now be over aware & no doubt scuff mine.

I have reps of the current M3 alloys albeit 18" & will never be having diamond cut finish again as there is no way to repair without a full refurb. Will be replacing them with CSLs later this month.

Out of interest, who do you use for your repairs?

Matt

A great company called 'paint it' in billericay.

I've used them a few times with various cars over the years, very high quality work and all done in house.

I was up at Innsworth with work last month and run over these coming out of the. Car park - horrified when I heard them running all the way along the underside but didn't appear to do any damage.

Sorry to hear of your damage

:(

As its diamond finished i would get some lacquer over it to stop water getting in and leave it till after winter, if you can bear seeing/ being reminded on it.

It's already booked in. Just got to get it done while there is money free. The order of mods go:

1) wheels pre December - I thought I had that covered
2) exhaust - picking up the rogue tomorrow
3) skirts and paint - before February

I suppose that's why it irritated me so much because it almost messed with my best laid plans.

All sorted. Picked the car up from Paintit this morning, you'd never know there was ever anything wrong with it. :D

Right, now let's get this project back on track...
