Oh boy I'm in trouble now...... (new wheels content)

Tell her you found cracks in the other wheels and had to change over to other rims on safety grounds.Flog you old ones on ebay and buy some smaller winter rims later in the year.Bung her some cash (for clothes) from the proceeds of the sale of the original rims and she'll be fine. I guess I'm lucky, my wife just says " it's you car, your money, do what you like with it". As long as the bills get paid and we have a holiday or two every year, she's happy. :D

what with the birthday and now this, I've got to ask: Has your wife got a sister?

I have a spare set of original 17" 3.0si rims with tyres if you want to take them in PX against your black m rims with some cash ?

Are they lighter or heavier than the 18 inch OEM wheels? Do look good on the coupe, not so keen on a roadster.

perhaps soften the blow by buying her an handbag or aa new pair of shoes

another good tatic is to mention them whilst filling up the dish washer, just drop it in conversation

+1! *applauds*

I'm reading this thread hoping it's mostly been tongue in cheek but.....hmmm! Me and the misses have joint expenses and then what's left in each of our accounts is to do with what we please. The day I have to justify buying something to another person using my own money is the day I chop my balls off and give up. :poke:

Boys, boys, boys! trying hard to ignore the sexist (bitter sounding TBH) comments on here - even joining this site I felt as though I'd stumbled across the boys room  but you guys have proved helpful, kind and very knowledgeable.

My hubby spends ooh, ££££ on his cars but he also works very hard and yes it's his dosh. I earn my own and we also share. As Beedub says, it's all about compromise.

Be honest with her. How would you feel if she lied to you? Being made to feel special doesn't need to involve money, shoes or handbags, so be clever and don't let her feel she's competing with a car.....chances are that's underlying.

Best of luck with your wheels :D

I don't think thats a problem, she knows there's no competition :p

On a serious one this is all tongue in cheek. We have our own money and spend on what we like, as long as the bills etc are paid the rest is to enjoy :) She just gives me playful digs as we're getting married and starting family soonish so need to grow up :D

Well they've just turned up :) :) :) :) :)

Just going to unpack them so assuming all is ok get them fitted - new thread with pics soon I hope :driving: :driving: :driving:

Growing up is optional, or at least negotiable :D
