OEM Wheel Options and E86 Offset

Noob here. :(


I've just picked up my E86 3.0 Si and it currently has the OEM turbine style wheels fitted (17"), now these are ok 3 wheels are great and one needs a repaint. But I was also looking at other wheel options.

Ideally I'd like a set of Z4M alloys but its just whether a set come up for sale.

Other OEM wheels I've been looking at in 18inch are the 1 Series 208 M Sport Wheels, I have no idea if they will fit the E86. Here are the offset measurements...


2x 7.5J J x18 ET:49
2x 8.5J J x18 ET:52

Could someone tell me the E86 offset if possible?

Not sure the turbine's were ever standard on the coupe ? someone may have swapped them at some point ?
The z4m ( 224's) do suit the E86 extremely wheel as the rears have a low offset so making them stick out more in the arch .
Stock offsets are 35/45 if that helps you decide ( the higher the offset the more in stands the face of the wheel )

Standard 18" wheel fitment on E85/86 non ///M cars was:

Front wheels: 18x8" ET47
Rear wheels: 18x8.5" ET50
 
Thanks guys, hmmm not sure what the turbine wheels have come from then. I think I'll have to hold out for a set of 224m then. Doh.


Ill get some pics up shortly, at the moment the car is in my garage until my Civic Type R gets collected in a couple weeks.
 
Check how much clearance there is on your existing wheels between the wheel/tyre and any suspension components. If there's more than 5mm of room, you should be fine :thumbsup:

The 1 series wheel will sit 2mm further in than standard wheels - as the offset is higher

Right, I've got myself a lovely set of refurbed style 108's, my question is now what's the OEM tyre sizes for these wheels?

Thanks, should look real nice. I'm happy they have been refurbed too as no doubt id end up with corrosion on that rim otherwise.

Ill get some pics up when I'm all sorted :D

Can some one tell me the torque setting for OEM 18" alloys?

I can't find anything in the manual but I've googled and found 120Nm for 17".
 
I have standard MV2s on my E86 Coupe - which is lowered slightly on Eibach springs.

I think I've done everything correctly...but that to me says they would fit without issue?

V. sorry for the newbie comments to this, but tyre and wheel stuff is out of my comfort zone - although I am trying to learn!
