OE Green band or non OE clear windscreen?

I've just had an OE green band windscreen fitted. Love it. (Wasn't too sure at the time as I had a clear aftermarket Pilkington in the car.).
I reckon the OE green band+tint adds a touch of class :? and obviously matches the side windows. Someone else has just had an aftermarket clear fitted and they very happy with it.

So, what do you lot prefer?

My car was originally specked with a green shade band so that's what I'd stick with

Clear, hate a ugly green band.

Not owned one with, but driven both, personally I prefer the clear windscreen.

For me the band kinda reduced the size of the part your looking through (the z4 isn't huge to start with) made me feel a little hemmed in. Although its was better in strong direct sun light, as opposed to using the sun visor.

Initially I was going through the insurance. After talking to my insurers to clarify if this would count as a claim they confirmed it counts as a claim. So I decided not to go through insurers. Despite saying that the windscreen excess I paid in my policy covers me and therefore the 'claim' for a new windscreen doesn't actually get logged by them as a claim is false. A claim is a claim. I never stay with the same insurers. They always give a silly renewal price so I jump every year to a new insurer to get a cheapest renewal price. New insurers always ask the question 'Have you made 'any' claims in the last 5 years. The answer is a simple tick the box 'yes' or 'no'. You can't give an explanation. Therefore you policy is hiked up.
I bought the oe screen new on ebay for £160, rubbers from dealers for £26 and £80 to fit it. An oe screen from the dealers is only £281 inc VAT.

The green band is barely visible from the driving position and doesn't serve to replace the use of the visor in any sunlight. I can barely see the green band. It's very subtle from inside the car. Maybe the screen was an aftermarket with a heavy, wide band.

Guess bmw will only supply clear. Demand for green tint band must be so low.

:? The oe catalogue only offers green band and tint. When I rang the dealers they quoted for the same part. Seems it's the other way round in my neck of the woods.

You can tell if it's BMW oe, it'll have the BMW marking on the bottom left or right of the screen depending how you look at it. Though BMW don't make screens they do put their mark on the screens they use. No BMW mark = Aftermarket non oe.
