Went to Cooper BMW toaday...... started the negotiations on the (brand) new Zed........ more to follow

When is the facelift version due exactly? Just so you don't get one of the last pre-facelift ones.

What spec you going for?

The facelift must be at least 12 months away :idunno:

Was it Coopers Durham bought both the Zeds from them and imo very good service, the salesman on both occasions was a guy called Chris Davies a very nice chap. Me and the GF were probably the easiest customers he's probably ever had seen it,liked it,bought it
As wondermike as already said what spec you looking at and colour combo.

Up to now, its a 3.0l Sdrive in alpine white with turbine style alloys, coral red Kansas, comfort package and cruise control. Now its down to the haggling as the list price is nearly 5k more than Ive got available. The biggest hurdle was getting the go ahead from the chancellor for my significant birthday

Wouldn't you be better served buying used if you can find the right spec? That way you can close the £5k gap?

Thats how it started, i asked them to search fo a used car, couldnt find exactly what I asked for so he ended up talking me into a new one and said 'im sure we can do something if youre serious about buying the car' hence the negotiations. I called him today and he was busy, never called me back, maybe I am more serius than him

Here is the new car contract when I ordered my car in April last year. I was not planning to buy brand new car, but it was very hard to find a used black/grey/silver/blue E89 with adaptive M Sport suspension (only red cars). Also, I prefer M Sport steering wheel and bodystyling.

But remember, Connectivity Package and Loudspeaker System - BMW Business were complimentary specification upgrade. The discount shown includes full amount of these two options. Discount was still over 10%. Hope it gives you an idea what you should pay.

Thanks, thats helpful, i have connectivity on my spec list. I will check tomorrow that North East Cooper are giving away Sat Nav as per the earlier post, they have not mentioned that up to now

z4alfie, print out the link I posted earlier, £5k off will be achievable. The nav upgrade is on the BMW website under the current offers section, and is for non-M Sport models. You'll get that on top of any negotiated discount.

Holy crap - just under 32K Pounds for brand new! We certainly get ripped off here in Oz - you will pay that much for a 5 year old 3.0si Roadster... :o

That same spec here is approx 70K Pounds... :(

Anyone want to play with one for a year then send it to Aus? :D

I thought about this for a while... However, decided to return to the UK instead :)

(actually, my 12 months here is up soon) - so was doing a little pre-purchase research while in the UK for a week in Feb.
