Odd Spam posts?

Has anyone else noticed, over the last few days, that new members are popping up on random threads, simply repeating an extract from someone else's post earlier in the same thread?
Seen two or three now, one of which even seemed to be an odd kind of translation?
What is the purpose of all this? What am I missing?

Cheers. Yes he put three in just today, and others included random links.
Why do they do it? I can kind of understand the links idea, but just copying other people's posts seems a bit wierd.

I noticed that this morning also, A gaggle of them in the Newbie section. Wierd indeed.
