Odd roof issue

Last time I opened my hood, 4-6 weeks ago, it went up and down like a rapier.

Today, wouldn't open at all; it'd unlatch, but then not move. I presumed it was another switch, so I hardwired it to test, again no movement. So, I used the Bowden cable for manual operation, that was a proper struggle but eventually it went down. Getting it back up was again a struggle, but I did it and it latched properly and locked.

So, what on earth could have gone wrong in 4-6 weeks of decent weather?!??!

Are you sure the unlatching worked properly?
Had a similar issue with the wife's a few weeks ago. I could hear it unlatch but didn't want to go back.
A little bit of vaseline on the latches at the top of the windscreen seems to have cured it so far.

Yes, latches come off straight away, there's clear daylight between the roof edge and the windscreen edge; when I put the roof back up manually I did a check on the latches and they pinch in/out as expected.

Ah ok, not that then. Would have been too easy. :(
