Sat in traffic this morning I noticed that half the time when in neutral, the engine was idling oddly. It would keep going up and down between 1250-1700rpm, very regularly. I've not noticed any other odd symptons and there's no engine warning light.
Any ideas as to what it is?
The car is due it's Inspection 2 in a few hundred miles, it's booked in for Monday.
It's currently with the family mechanic to get it's brakes changed tomorrow morning, so he said he'll have a nosey around. He mentioned something about a part cracking being common on these engines... :?
Having a search around the forum, there are similar problems but mostly with the engine almost stalling too, mine's not doing that. One mention was it could simply be the air filter getting to the end of it's like, that should be getting done on Monday atleast. Other causes sound more worrying
