OBDII reader

I have Bimmercode with the correct Bluetooth plug for my 2017 Mini Clubman. This obviously doesn’t work for my 2006 E86, however I also have another Bluetooth plug with Torque app.

Trouble is when I plug it into the car, it isn’t recognised. Lights on the plug just show red (power) but no flashing blue or green lights showing connectivity with the car.

Any and all ideas gratefully received.

What are you trying to pair the OBD emulator to, phone, Ipad or laptop. At least you have a red power light showing, what happens when you try pairing it to what you are using to run the App. Try turning the ignition on when going through the pairing to see if your device finds the emulator, if it fails to see it suspect the blootooth has gone duff inside it. I use a Wifi emulator to run Torque App on phone and Ipad.

Thanks. Trying to connect to an Android phone running Torque. Only tried with engine running though, not tried connecting first with ignition on. Was working fine recently on my old Z3 so don't think it's the BT block. Phone says it can see it just can't connect after trying.

My wifi one works ok on my Z3, don't think I have tried it on my Z4, use BMW Scanner 1.4 on a laptop on the Z4 which I find far quicker and easy to use, it reads all modules it finds on your car and can clear codes with ease. Will see if I can get Torque running on the Z4 and my Android phone when I venture outside, too cold here at the moment. My Z4 is a 2.5 2003 model.
