OBD Scanner Advice

Something I will throw out there like a stinky turd. If your top stops midway, you will need to get into the boot to repair the problem. You can open the boot with ProTool. Other wise you will have to contort yourself to get to the fuse panel behind the glove box and do the pin 12 trick.

Yup that’s a big plus for Protool..

Hello again, I called Foxwell today for advice and to purchase a scanner. I was told the best for my BMWs was a NT530 for £164!!
Okay, so the first job is to replace the Starline 60Ah battery in my Z4 for an 80Ah Varta; apparently this is a job that requires recoding, so asked if that is correct. He then told me the NT530 cannot do this!

Is there another scanner that can, or something cheaper? Or is recoding nonsense and I just fit the Varta anyway?

Cheers.

Coding / registration is very important..can cause premature failure of the new battery and / or various sub systems to erroneously shut down / misbehave…

The scanner debate has already been done..

LAUNCH X431 ELITE 2.0
As per my previous post, my scanner cost me £115 and can do battery reg. I am surprised that a £164 one can't. I quite like the interface of the LAUNCH X431 ELITE 2.0 and I would recommend it for the price and features.
