OBD Port Assistance

Over on this topic I'm discussing a Birds-eye 360 install.... https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=118080

The install is 95% done... and pretty good so far...

I'm a bit stuck on another part of this install however and wondered if anyone might be able to help. The system takes an input from the OBD port via an interface device for steering trajectory data. The interface has dip-switches on it which allow you to select the car make and model... but of course a Z4 isn't on the list. Does anyone know what main other BMW model would have the most similar output at the OBD port to a 2009 Z4 35i and I'll try the dip-switch setting for that model. The choices (written in Chinese so some, hard to translate) are thus as far as I can make out...

Pin 8 on the EOBD. Port carries non engine data such as telemetry data...it’s up to the manufacturer to decide how to handle it...most BMWs since 2005 have the port in this format..

The issue is that the data format and content from the steering may vary in many ways so it’s not predictable which model offers the ‘best’ option..if any..so suck it and see..

A look at real oem at the respective steering control units may be illuminating...I understand the E89 rack is unique..

E89s have a habit of doing things just a bit different compared to their 3 series brethren..

Thanks very much for your responses guys. The 'suck it and see' approach is one with which I'm very fond... however, sadly, picking the right group of cars is only one piece in the puzzle... there are a couple of other settings on the 360 system itself that also need to fall in to place... hence trying to narrow down the list. :-)
