I have to get an "emissions inspection" where I live and the inspector needs to plug into the OBD. I found the OBD cover plate (OBD is printed on it in big letters) but I don't know if it is missing something or...?
I don't want to pull it too hard, force and break something. I got down there with a flashlight and there is an opening on the cover that has a green resistor in it. There is another area, right beside that resistor, where it looks like another resistor could go but it is empty. It seems to me that there should be a cover over that , if so mine is missing.
The cover looks like it is "hinged" at the bottom and the cover would swing down. but I am afraid to put too much force on it to pull it down, I don't want to break anything and that exposed resistor makes me think it is missing something and apparently so am I.
Just got it titled yesterday and legally I have 10 days to get it inspected and I don't want the inspector to be confused and maybe break it for me...
Will post a photo if that would help. 2004 3.0L. From what I've seen on YouTube (RH Drive Z4s) it is behind a little door that swings out. It appears the LH drive is different. Hope someone can help.
Thanks,
