Number plate

I quite fancy the german style plates that are available (but illegal)

What's the risk of getting stopped for these? and the fine?

I have a nice short number taht would look quite 'germanic'

(I guess that the german 'palkettes' are a no-no too?

Cannot decide if its naff or a bit cool?

Might just buy em for the garage wall. 8)

If it is a private registration, is it a short plate you're looking for? If you want it legally spaced, but cut short - try this guy:

How did you go about shortening the black plastic housing? were there any holes in the bumper which you had to get filled in and painted?

My local bodyshop did it for me. Cut each end off the plate holder, including the outermost screw fitting holes. Then cut an equal amount off both sides of the centre section. Plastic welded it back together and gave it a coat of textured black, as per the original. I gave them the short plate and they worked out the correct size from that. Cost about £25...

I have got a couple of holes in the front bumper, but the car is back in next week for a facelift bumper to be fitted so I'll live with it until then!
