Can anyone please tell me if the rear of a Z4 has threaded holes to fix the number plate on? All Z4's I've looked at the plate is stuck on with adhesive pads. I ask because I've got a pair of number plate surrounds which need screwing to the car...
Scottiee cannot remember if there was any factory style threaded holes when i took off the rear plate i do not think there was i just drilled into the rear bumper and used some self tappers to fix my plate surround as for the front i think there are holes on each corner.
There were 2 predrilled holes in mine on approx 12" centres and used them when I fitted narrower plates. I'd be very wary of drilling any extra new holes unless they are well withing a plate size and you seal the unused old ones. Personally I'd find a way of bonding the frame to the panel without the need to drill
Front is very different and the plinth has many predrilled screw positions and you can just put pilot holes anywhere to suit.
IIRC mine didn't have holes as such, but a pair of indentations where you were supposed to drill the holes. The number plate recess is quite curved, so even with the holder held in by screws you may want to sticky tape the edges.
