Notifying DVLA of colour change, from blue to blue?

If you change the colour of your car, I realise you have to notify the DVLA and insurance company. BUT, what if you only change the shade of colour?

For example, from Maldives Blue to Montego Blue?

I ask because I'm thinking of doing exactly that. I want to transform my current Maldives blue from this:

my z4 e85 2.jpeg

To this, including the MV2 alloy swap:

What does it say on the v5c as the colour? If it's simply 'blue' then I wouldn't worry about a shade change personally!

Good point, haven’t checked it yet. Will go do it today for sure because I have a feeling it just says “blue”!

As long as blue on logbook can't see a problem. We have had cars on site quick look gold and it's silver on logbook!! They don't specify an exact colour.

No need at all

If you change it so it clearly doesn’t match the “generic” colour on the V5 then yes ..

But 50 shades of blue .... no

As above, it will only say a colour, not what shade of the colour.
sorry to hi jack this @firebobby any pics of your GT6? The coupe reminds me so much of them. If so could you put some up in other marques?
