I'm after purchasing some new alloys for my '09 mazda 3.

Any recommendations/who to avoid buying them from and which makes to avoid as there appear to be hundreds of manufacturers out there and obviously some of them are bound to be cheapo Chinese rubbish.

Maybe one for our Mr.Wilks....

I can't recommend any particular make, but I would definitely recommend buying a branded pair and going to view them in person before you buy.

I bought mine from a website and the quality of the paint was really poor, however it was difficult to see at first as I had them stored in my spare room and thought they'd look much better in proper daylight outside, with tyres on etc. Eventually I got the tyres fitted and put them on the car and when you stepped back, you could clearly see that the fronts were a different colour to the rears and that they were all more of a matt grey instead of silver. I ended up forking out £250 for a refurb to get the colour done properly.

Next time I buy wheels I'll be getting them somewhere local and having a look at them in situ on or next to the car to make sure I'm 100% happy before paying.

Cheers for the reply.
Not too many places around here that flog alloys and those that do are fffffffing expensive.
Points noted and taken on board.

Id stick with the big players like Wheelbase or ive used Lkperformance a few times near Leeds
There are hundreds of aftermarket companies & no reason to think they are producing cheap wheels
