Not the best end to the day, no clutch!

The day started great, sun was out, Z was nice and clean and I had a trip over to some family to look forward to. 70 trouble free miles of driving BUT after a chilled day I went out to the Z to head home only to find it had dumped its clutch fluid all over the road, no clutch pressure but luckily I didn't leave it in gear.

Greenflag to the rescue, great team of guys that turned up to get me home and even though the Z is on the back of a truck it still looks awesome. Guessing either the clutch slave has given up or a pipes spilt, I'll have a look tomorrow and assess the situation before deciding on a DIY or garage repair.

Next stop - Curry and a pint!

Bugger! The clutch system really isn't all that complex so surely it would be an easy DIY job to fix? Either way please report back with the root of the failure ;)

Why would that have mattered? You can easily pull the shifter out of gear (or push it back in for that matter) without touching the clutch.

I had an E30 many years ago and the clutch slave packed in while the car was in gear and it wouldn't come out. The Z wouldn't go into gear yesterday but it's moving freely now, I've had a look under the car and TBH I've decided to leave it to the pro's, I'll get it booked in this week and see what the result is

Jacked her up yesterday but couldn't spot where the fluid was leaking from so rather than mess around it's booked in on Friday for a replacement Slave and Master cylinder, better to replace both as I'd guess replacing one would just stress the old part left behind if the seals are passed their best.

Fingers crossed she'll be fighting fit for the weekend!
