Painful to see and read. :( A good few years ago I was behind a Citroen Safari that had been collected new from the dealer. In less than 1/2 mile the traffic lights turned red, and after a short delay, the car twitched violently, swung to the left and crashed into the traffic light pole. I guessed what had happened and had it confirmed when I spoke to the shocked driver. These cars had what can only be described as a large button on the floor which was the brake pedal. When the lights changed he tried to apply the brake, forgetting that it wasn't up level with the clutch and accelerator pedals. He then panicked and slammed his foot to the floor which did hit the brake 'button', causing the brakes to lock and the car to swing left violently. :o

Oof. Lucky the driver got out alright, I can imagine the panic though, trying to hit the brake only for it to not be there has got to be fear-inducing.

Only the French.....

:o Oh dear, too much car not enough talent or knowledge, bet they never do that again.

Oh dear, what a shame!
I couldn't work out for a while what happened from the damage, i.e bumper looks undamaged.
Looks like he/she went under the rear bumper of a lorry.

Gutting for the owner, alot of these mishaps seem to be booting it out of a corner or roundabout and losing traction, easily done with new car excitement in the heat of the moment. Did exactly that when test driving an MR2 and did a half 360 on a bend on a greasy road, thankfully didn't hit anything and went on to buy the car :) Might simply be they hit a patch of diesel or oil and were simply unlucky, can happen to the best of us.

Expensive lesson to learn though

Guessing that they spun round and clouted the Armco barrier square on.

Tucked under something, no other vehicle involved, so fence or Armco I guess. :)

Aye, John. Had another look and you can make out some damage to the kerb and armco.
Another reason not to have a 'rarri, if you did that in a 'normal' car it would be a new plastic grille or bumper at the most.

Just trying to figure out the same thing. Must have gone under something. What ever it was it was expensive :)
