Found this on inspecting the car tonight, very unimpressed, wonder what could have caused it? What I wouldn't give for a garage to keep the car safe at night...

Yuk, almost looks like a bike's handlebar. Is that possible where the car is parked?

Is it down to the metal?

Doesn't look as bad in the second post. If it was me I would try touching up and wet sanding back. Will take some effort but have seen good results.

That's rotten luck mate,I feel for you,we are very lucky as we have a garage ,we had three MX5 's and the Zed ,all were garaged ,I'm paranoid about leaving car parked up ,we have had one car park dent removed by Ryebrook ,wife uses it for lunch gym etc M.T.W I can't deny I worry about it if we did not have a garage we would not have the zed ,wife would have a bog std motor end of,if I had my way it would never get wet I've seriously considered a winter car for the wife I love our zed to bits it's my pride and joy ,but it's a bloody nightmare sometimes .

Feel for you, I was pissed off when I had the Z3 dented up just before Xmas, car was parked on the end of a row in a car park and yet some twat still managed to reverse out of an opposite space into the side of the Zed, there was bags of space to reverse out with no drama so thinking it was done of purpose. I'd gone 6 years owning the Zed without a single ding but have come to accept unless you never use the car then this will happen and if you don't use it whats the point owning it.

Don't think so but still quite deep, will show you in a few days and see what you think

looks down to the black primer atleast... i would get a touchup pen and try filling it as srhutch said... or better still get a smart repair done.. seen some so good they are invisible in anything except direct light on the area.
