Rant:

Through not staying on the ball this month I am down £500 which has gone in to the Tax Man's pocket :headbang:
 
Surely you owe what you owe? He cant just change his mind on what you need to give however 'on the ball' you are.
 
I used to work with contractors who would move money between bank accounts each month as some sort of tax dodge.

I'm not clever enough to work it out and rely on PAYE to keep me safe....although one day I'm sure they'll work out that I owe them money (I owe everyone else money!).
 
True, but depending on where the money is coming from and to whom it changes weather its declarable or not :(
Basically payroll wasnt set up as it should of been this month :cry: trying to get it sorted now though. Anyone use sage payroll and know if its possible to reverse an entry?

In the same boat I owe £800 due to company car tax not being taken because hr messed up my p11d several times

my partner owed the tax man only a couple of hundred due to there cock up so you called to pay them , what a palaver that was , coundnt pay by card had to be a check ( she doesn't have a check book ) you can see why people don't pay up there don't make it easy for you . Pain in the ars !!!!!
 
I quite like the taxman at the moment, the changes to personal allowance next year means I take home an extra £30odd a month.
 
I got told I owed £900 to the Inland Revenue as it then was and that it was payable within 30 days or they would start adding interest...

Eventually we agreed that I'd send them 10 post dated cheques for £90 ea. as I explained that I didn't have that much money and it would cause hardship etc.

Still have to pay it but it does make it easier :-)

And they didn't charge interest!
 
I don't mind the tax man even though I pay a fortune in VAT, PAYE and TAX. What gets my back up is the way the government manage it :headbang:
