Non RFT Rear, with RFT Fronts?

As per the topic title, is it okay/safe to mix new non-runflats on the rear axle, with my existing runflats on the front axle?

I've got plenty of tread on the fronts and so don't want to bin them, but will do so if it means there'll be some weird handling issues thrown up by mixing the two technologies.

Thanks in advance.

For any spirited driving I would avoid it. Can't see it being really dangerous. Could be insurance implications. Most will say dig deep and get x4 the same.

Not best to but can be run like that if there's the same type of tyre on each axle - I've done it in the past with my 2.0 litre - unless you're always giving it all on the road I'd personally run the fronts down before replacing them - depends how you use the car and how long you intend to keep it (and what you can afford to do). Also are they quality tyres which are fitted Runflats or non runflats - that will make a difference as to whether you can get away with the different types.

See what others have to say. . .

:driving:

I ran mine like that for a year, didn't have any problems. Better if you can to have non RFTs all round if you can, like you my fronts were nearly new when I bought the car and there always seemed to be other things (not car related) to spend money on
